Time for a different type of post for my blog.  Since the inception of my blog, I have been talking about political issues.  My blog isn’t simply a discourse on my thoughts on the current political atmosphere in this country.  While I will continue to post my thoughts about current political events, I will also take the time to change the topic once in a while.

With that being said, I wish to take the time to talk about Quantum of Solace, which I saw this past weekend.  After seeing Casino Royale when it first came out a couple of years ago, I must admit, I became pretty excited when I heard about a sequel with Daniel Craig.  I was pleasantly surprised with his performance in Casino Royale, and growing up as a Bond aficionado (thanks dad!), I was optimistic about a remake of the series.

I feel that Quantum of Solace took a little bit of a step backwards from Casino Royale.  I really liked the fact that it continued where Casino Royale left off without missing a beat.  I also definitely liked the fact that we got to see an emotional distressed Bond, something that we have never seen in the series.  It was also an action packed flick, which is something that I like from Bond.  Daniel Craig is definitely no Pierce Brosnan, and he’s more intense than Sean Connery.

I don’t want to ruin any of the plot, but I must say, it’s not the worst Bond movie I’ve seen, but definitely not the best either.  I am anxiously awaiting the third Daniel Craig Bond flick, and hope to see the progress made toward the re-crafting of a series that I’ve enjoyed so much for the last 25 years.
